Baseline water needs
A common baseline is 30–35 ml per kg of body weight. For a 70 kg person, that is roughly 2.1–2.5 liters before adding exercise or creatine.
Adjusting for creatine and exercise
Add approximately 300–500 ml per 5 g of creatine, plus 500 ml–1 L for workouts depending on duration, intensity, and climate.
Why water matters on creatine
Water helps transport creatine into muscles and supports the cell volumization effect. Poor hydration may lead to cramps, headaches, or reduced training performance.
Cups vs liters vs ounces
The calculator shows your target in liters and estimates cups. One cup is roughly 240 ml. If you prefer ounces, 1 liter is about 34 ounces. Choose whatever unit you track most easily.

What if my urine is still dark?
Increase water intake gradually and consider electrolytes if you sweat heavily.
Is there a maximum safe water intake?
Very high water intake over a short time can dilute blood sodium. Spread intake evenly through the day.
How many glasses is 3 liters?
Roughly 12–13 standard glasses of 240 ml each.
Does creatine increase thirst?
Some people feel slightly more thirsty as their body adjusts. Drink to thirst while keeping your target in mind.
Should I drink more in summer?
